Sirsasana:

The Sirsasana yoga pose shows a significant positive influence in relieving diabetes. The main cause of diabetes is the pituitary gland whose imbalance of the Master gland manifest in the malfunctioning of pancreas.  The master gland secretes too much of diabetogenic hormone that leads to type 2 diabetes. but Sirsasana acts on the pituitary gland by improving the blood supply thus help in combating diabetes.

Sarvangasan:

Gently massages the thyroid and parathyroid glands (found in the neck region) by its firm chin-lock. This gentler massage increases the fresh blood circulation to these glands, and thus this gland starts working to its full efficacy. These glands are responsible for protein, fat, and carbohydrate metabolism as well as vitamin metabolism. This in-turn is affecting, how the human cells can use energetic compounds. The thyroid also regulates other glands responsible for metabolism.

Halasan:

The practice of yoga for diabetes is effective as a preventive measure and also to treat Type 2 diabetes, where the causes are attributed to life style and stress.Halasan massage to abdominal surface gently and hence stimulate pancreatic secretion.

Paschimottanasan:

While practicing this Paschimottanasana the intestines, gall bladder are smoothly pressed and stimulates well. The soul energy of the body will be strengthening by spinal cord, spinal nerves are pulled during the time of asana. It prevents diabetes.

Ardhya mastyendrasana:

The half spinal twist pose is just like a boon for those who have sugar problems. The diabetic patient should perform it regularly. Practising this yoga pose helps to instruct the beta cells of pancreas to secrete more insulin as Ardha Matsyendrasana stimulates the pancreas. Secretion of insulin ensures sugar control in blood thereby beneficial in diabetes.

Balasan:

Balasan busts all stress. It also treats back pain caused due to sitting for long. As it’s a good de-stressing, it relieves stress induced hyper-glycemia.

Role of Yoga in Diabetes

  •    Yoga is a promising, cost-effective way to prevention and treats diabetes

  •      Yoga can reduce stress induced hyperglycemia and have a positive effect on “blood glucose control”
  •      Managing the stress in day to day life plays a key role for preventing Diabetes. When we’re stressed, our blood sugar levels increase and elevated blood sugar levels increase the chances of serious complications such as heart disease.
  •  Using controlled breathing techniques, meditation and body postures, train participants to invoke a relaxation response.

  •  This response helps regulate cortisol and other stress hormones, which increases blood pressure and blood glucose levels. Both play a big role in the development of type 2diabetes and related complications.
